Cameos
Since Final Fantasy VII's release in 1997 on the PlayStation One, it's popularity has been subject to many imports of some characters from Final Fantasy VII to other Square productions. It's popularity allowed Square to easily import characters as a bouns for many of their games, and as a result, the game; Final Fantasy VII grows in popularity to this day.
Ehergiz : God Bless The Ring : Square's fighting-beat-em up game, released shortly after Final Fantasy VII. It's basic format was on the Arcade, however Square released the game for the Home PlayStation One console. From that import, Cloud, Tifa, Zack, Yuffie and Sephiroth, where added as additional characters.
Final Fantasy Tactics : Shortly released after Final Fantasy VII, In this Final Fantasy Release, you could unlock Cloud Strife, as a secret playable character towards the end of the game. In this cameo of Cloud, Square directed a part of the original storyline to Tactics. Which was a fan-favorite.
Final Fantasy IX : Although not playing a direct role in the game, or cameo appearence. Square used Final Fantasy IX as a a salute to the previous games on the PlayStation One, which inculded Final Fantasy VII & VIII. In Limdblum, a city in FF9, the main character Zidane refers to Cloud. When inspecting in the Weapon Shop, on display will appear a sword named "Buster Sword," Cloud Strife's intial weapon. Upon Inspecting, Zidane will comment, "I Knew A Guy With Spiky-Hair Who had a sword like that." Another refrence is made, at the end of the game, the Quote from Zidane, "No Cloud or Squall Shall Hinder Us." Refering not only to the Weather Clouds and Rainstorms (Squalls), but to the previous main characters of the game, Cloud of Final Fantasy VII, and Squall Of Final Fantasy VIII.
Kingom Hearts : In this Disney-Square combination, Square Released Cloud, Aeris, Cid and Yuffie as storyline characters that helped the main characters along on their journey. As well, you could battle with them in a world colliseum as well.
Kingdom Hearts II : The Sequel to Kingdom Hearts, Cloud, Aeris, Tifa, Yuffie, Cid and Sephiroth were added as additional storyline influcening characters. However, in this game, Cloud had a seperate storyline that paralled The Square-Enix release of Advent Children, the Final Fantasy VII Sequel.
Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy In Itadaki Street Special : Itadaki Street is a Japanese Board Game, that some compare similiar to Monopoly. Square's release of the Itadaki Street introduced Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, the company's largest Series titles. In Itadaki Street, Cloud, Tifa, Aeris and Sephiroth were in the game alongside other Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest Characters.
