Squall Leonheart The main character of this story and a cadet of the special combat SeeD from Balamb Garden Military Academy. Judging from his anti-social behavior, he appears to be selfish and lacking a sense of team unity. An aloof character that dislikes having others inolved in his affairs, Squall is best described as a lone wolf. |

Rinoa Heartilly A lively young woman with the ability to touch people's hearts, Open and honest with her feelings, Rinoa has a tendenct to speak her mind without concealing anything. Driven by her Ambition she is known to be stubborn at times. |

Laguna Loire An ex-solider turned journalist, Laguna is strong-willed man with amazing energy. Out of compassion for the unforunate, he helps those who are weak, and destorys those who seek to oppress. Using his pen as a mighty instrument of justice, he now standa strong against the evils of the world. |

Seifer Almasy A candiate for SeeD. Although Sefier is a naturally gifted soldier, his inability to take orders and control his temper has earned him the label of being problematic. Although recinginzing and praising Squall's abilities and powers, he is nontheless regards him as his ultimate rival. |

Quistis Trepe A SeeD cadet at ts age of 15, Quistis now instructs Squall and his compainions at Balamb Garden. Contray to her cool and bold exterior, she is known to have a diffcult time coping with frustration, which sometimes results in her becoming depressed over trivial matters. |

Selphie Tilmitt A women who seems out of place in a military academy because of her innocent look and light-hearted personality. Selphie's happy-go-lucky disposition and laid-back attitude tend to catch others off guard. |

Zell Dincht A incredible martial artist. Aspiring to become like his grandfather who was once a solider, Zell entered Garden at the age of 13. Not being one that thinks matters throuught, he is known to act on impulse rather than reasoning. At heart however , he is an honest young man who takes things seriously. |

Irvine Kinneas An expert marksman from Galbadia Garden, Irvine is known as the "Best shooter in Garden". His reputation for cherishining the company of women is almost as well known as his accuracy with a gun, Although he seems to be insenstivtive and frivolous at first glance, he is in reality, sensititve and serious. |
