The Guardian Force, Odin, is the one of the two random Guardian Forces that you can recieve in the game of Final Fantasy VIII. Odin's attack is Zantetsuken. Odin's Zantetsuken will cause Istant victory for your party. Due to that, Odin is not a regular Guardian Force, he will not appear on the Guardian Force menu, as well, he cannot be junctioned or summoned regularly. This aspect of Odin is the factor that causes players not to essentially care about how Odin damages the enemies. Essentially, all you need to know is the limits of Odin's Zantetsuken. Zantetsuken can only work with full effect on Regular Battles, field battles. Under no circumtances will Odin ever appear in a Boss Battle. The Only boss he appears in, is Seifer At the Lunatic Pandora, in which he dies.

In Disc 3 or 4, head north from theorphanage on Centra continent to the circular island formation on the map. You should see a small tower in barren surroundings. This can be accessed via water and air. From your enterance, A 20 minute timer will start. Try to avoid all fights, because your HP and the time is important. Make your way through the ruins, climb the ladder on the left as far as it will go and step off to the altar, examine it, and proceed up the new pair of stairs. Climb the Ladder, examine the Statue with one eye, remove the eye, climb down the ladder, and head for the stairs. Climb the dome, place the eye inside the statue. Remember the code in that statue and remove both eyes. Then head to the previous room and place both eyes into the statue. Enter the Code to unlock the path to Odin's chamber. From there, Odin won't attack until you start the battle. The task from there is to just defeat him within the time limit. Odin only has only 10000 HP, so it shouldn't be hard. Once you have Odin, he will randomly appear in battles from then on.
