Drive Forms
The Drive Gauge is a new aspect to Kingdom Hearts II, similar to some of the Final Fantasy games, the Drive Bar represents a powered up mode, where changes to Sora's Attacks, magic, and everything overall is changed. Comparable to the 'Overdrive' of Final Fantasy X, or the 'Limit Breaks' of Final Fantasy VII. The purpose of the Drive bar is be able to combine with your party members and able to use attacks that are not possible by using Sora alone. The Drive Forms do have limits, the Drive Bar runs out as soon as you change into the Drive Forms, meaning that you have a time limit, but you can refill them as they begin to run out by colllecting Yellow balls that drop from Heartless. Every Drive Form used, removes one party member from your team, specifically only Donald and Goofy. Most consider the drive forms to be a fusion between Sora, Donald or Goofy. Each form requires you to lose a party member, depending on the drive form you wish to transform to, they may require one or more party members to activate different drive forms. The Five forms are Valor, Wisdom, Master, Final, and Anti-Form. Each of these forms are obtained and manipulated in different ways.
Brave Form (Valor)
Obtained : Yen Sid's Mysterious Tower
The Valor Form, is the attack oriented drive form of all the drive forms, in this form you can no longer preform magic-based abilites, such as summons or the basic magic attacks such as fire. Due to this, the only damage-dealing attacks are physical, mainly the use of the basic attack. The transformation into Valor Form, you recieve two keyblades to wield, instead of one, and your ability to decimate massses of enemies. In Valor Form, you can stay airbore for a while and attack enemies in the air.
Wisdom Form
Obtained : Complete Timeless River
Magic oriented, The Wisdom drive form is the only magic based drive transformations. In the Wisdom form, you can't use your keyblade to strike and attack enemies with the basic attacks. As a result, the use of any abilites besides the ability your given to you. In Wisdom form you can only use your keyblade to shoot magic attacks. The Attacks you can make through shooting magic, can be done in air, while Sora is airborne for a while.
Master Form
Obtained : Mickey; Upon completing Space Paranoids
Requiring you to drop your entire party, the master form is the combination of the Wisdom and Valor drive form transformations. As the transformation requires your party to be lost for the duration of the transformation, Sora's abilites are augmented, to the point were Sora's attack and magic skills are on an equal or balanced level. The Master form allows Sora to wield two keyblades, but the use of the first keyblade is through holding the keyblade itself, while the second is controlled using Sora's magic abilites. While your transformation into the Master Form will give you amazing strength and augment your Magical abilites, the Drive Gauge will deplete faster than the Wisdom or Valor Forms.
Final Form
Obtained : Complete Drive Transformation In The World That Never Was
Being the Final Form, this is typically this is the drive form that has the most power besides the Anti-Form that allows you to still be in control. The Final form is similar to the Master form, in the sense that you lose your entire party, specificly Donald and Goofy, and your strength and magics is boosted dramatically, far more than the Master form. Similar to most other drive forms, exculding Wisdom and Anti-form, Final Form allows Sora to wield two keyblades, but instead of holding one or holding both like the Valor or Master Form, Sora wields both keyblades without holding them, and they float to the side as if they have a mind of their own. While your transformation into the Master Form will give you amazing strength and augment your Magical abilites, the Drive Gauge will deplete faster than the Wisdom or Valor Forms.
Anti Form
Obtained : Excessive Use Of Drive Transformations
Ultimately the most powerful drive transformation in the game, and the most unique transformation of them all. Provided as an Side-effect of Drive Forms, and the use of Anti-form from the regular Drive Form way, is impossible, use of the Anti-Form is given random. No longer in his original form, Sora transforms into a Heartless, particularly the Shadow heartless shape, but despite that, he still has somewhat the same appearence. Sora loses all of his party, and he cannot use any abilites besides the attack button. Sora's Strength is agumented, and Sora can unleash various fast combos that have great damage on enemies.
